Edholm Ullenius

Stockholm-based design studio Edholm Ullenius was founded in 2002 by Sissi Edholm and Lisa Ullenius. They met at Beckmans college of design and quickly realised that they worked very well as a team. "Many people wonder how it is for two creators to work together. For us it feels so natural, it's almost hard to answer that question. We approach each project as a team and both of us are always very involved, even if one of us is always in charge. We shoot ideas back and forth, and if one of us gets stuck, she can always hand the project over to the other who can see things from a different angle. In the end it can be difficult to know which one of us did exactly what". In connection with their degrees from Beckmans the duo won an IKEA scholarship and travelled down to the design department in Älmhult where they worked for five months. With a freelance contract from the furniture company in their pocket, they moved back to Stockholm and began building a solid customer base, which today contains everything from IKEA and Paul Smith to UNICEF and Absolut Vodka. Edholm Ullenius, taking assignments in both graphic design, illustration, pattern- and packaging design, often draw stimulus from nature and are constantly inspired by people with limitless vision for whom nothing is impossible - like Georgia O'Keeffe, Iris Apfel, Charles & Ray Eames and Dan Wolgers.
